The Big 12 Conference released its 2013 football schedule as approved by the league's
Directors of Athletics on Tuesday.
The conference schedule for Texas begins 9/21/13 at home against Kansas State followed by a bye week before traveling to Iowa State on either Thursday, 10/3 or Saturday, 10/5... UT will face Oklahoma in the Red River Rivalry on 10/12 prior to a second bye week... On 10/26, Texas will visit TCU for the first time as Big 12 foes before returning home to play Kansas on 11/2, and then visiting West Virginia for the first time in school history on 11/9... Texas returns
home for two games with Oklahoma State on 11/16, and Texas Tech on Thanksgiving Day, 11/28, then close the regular season on the road against Baylor on 12/7.
The 2013 season opens for Texas with three nonconference games starting with the season opener at home against New Mexico State on 8/31... On 9,7, the Horns will make
their second visit in school history to Provo, Utah, to face BYU with the only
other trip coming in 1988... Then they host Ole Miss for the third time ever
and the first since 1925 on 9/14 to finish the nonconference schedule.
