Reported Joe Schad: Texas Wide receiver to enter draft

"This is about my family and finances," Davis said. "It's a good time to take it to the next level. I enjoyed my time playing for Texas and it meant a lot to me."

Davis, 6-feet-1, 195 pounds, had 57 catches for 939 yards and 7 touchdowns this season.

He has been told he may be a third-round draft choice though he hopes to improve upon it.

"I can be a big play, deep threat," Davis said. "I can stretch the field and run good routes and move the chains. I can also return kicks and punts. I want to show the scouts everything I can do."
